Great Tew Primary School is a small and friendly school and we are proud of the ethos and values shared by all staff, children, parents and governors.

We are seeking to appoint a part time Teaching Assistant from January 2024 to work initially in our Reception Class.  The ideal candidate will be energetic and committed to enriching the development of our youngest children, with high expectations of pupils and the ability to support and motivate children with a range of needs. We offer a child-centred and varied approach to learning, which requires initiative and the ability to understand a child’s next steps. Working closely with the class teacher, the appointed person will work with individuals and small groups and will be required to spend time in the outdoor learning environment. The post also involves half an hour per day lunchtime supervision.  We are particularly interested in hearing from people who would be able to support with wraparound care or curricular enrichment activities.

Teaching Assistants are a valued and valuable part of the learning team at Great Tew and their important role is recognised by teachers, children, parents and governors. The work is varied, interesting and extremely rewarding.

The person appointed must be reliable, flexible, able to use initiative and to work as part of a team. We would love to meet caring and energetic people who want to make a difference to children’s learning and well-being.  Enhanced DBS checks and references will be required in line with our Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy.
